We are extremely honored and so very excited to announce that Valley Wellness Collective has been chosen to organize, promote, and manage the 1st Santa Ynez Valley Open Streets event!!⁠⠀
⁠⠀
On an 'Open Street', people traffic replaces car traffic, and streets become places where people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can come out, and find ways to improve their health. Community members gather, socialize, walk, run, bike, skate, dance or participate in other activities on selected local streets temporarily closed to motorized traffic. It is free and offers the community the opportunity to experience their city streets in a whole new way.⁠⠀

A huge thank you to the HEAL Coalition, People Helping People, SBCAG, the City of Buellton and all of the other people and organizations involved in this partnership. Thank you for putting your faith in us to execute this event! ⁠⠀

2) Jessica Foster Confections

Kelly met Jessica at an event in the Valley almost 10 years ago and Kel claims she “fell in love” with the chocolate crafter. 🎁

The love affair continues to this day as Kelly is still quick to point out that @jessicafosterconfections makes “one of the best chocolates she’s ever had in her life.” ⁠⠀

Today we had the pleasure of leading a jewelry making workshop over at the Alisal Ranch for a lovely group of ladies, known as the ‘Warrior Women’. And warriors they truly are, all mothers unified by the battle against substance abuse disorder. 🙏🏼 . .

They retreat bi-annually at the Ranch, connecting with eachother and building community through fun, learning and relaxation… and our jewelry making workshop provided them with all 3! . .

Many of our new friends professed their lack of creative skills… “I’m not creative at all” or “I am a terrible artist” before dipping their toes into the workshop. But with a little encouragement from us and support of their tribe, everyone left an artist. Afterall, we are all born with the ability to create, it sometimes can just get lost. 👩🏽‍🎨 . .

Out of respect for their privacy, we won’t be posting any photos of the incredible women we were honored to work side by side with today. But we will share some of their works of art! Aren’t you as impressed as we are!? It’s hard to pick a favorite!
